I also miss those things. I know the world certainly wasn't perfect. But in the public sphere with so many, we now lack even what my mother would have called "common decency". I think a movement is in order!

As I think about your comment I realize you referenced underlying values, things that generally have a “ right and wrong” most of us agree on. The constructs I chose could exist separate from that I think, but perhaps not… an interesting question.

I’m not aware that any of those have a right or wrong. For example, you’re either kind or you’re not.
